I listened to your interview with Kerry Cohen regarding her book “Loose Girl” and would like to clarify the misrepresentation of any request made to her about changes in her book.
For 6 months, Kerry has not responded directly to my email but on numerous occasions made reference to what she claims is my anger about her representation of me in her memoir.
I was very clear that what she writes about me, true or otherwise, is meaningless to me. What I was upset about was her inclusion of identifying details of my father. I cannot see the point of insulting my father in a memoir about her promiscuity. My father was nothing but kind to her during the years he welcomed her into his home and included her on family vacations. I’m saddened that more than 20 years later she would write such mean spirited things about him while identifying him to anyone who went to high school with us.
My email requested that she remove identifying details “in the event” of a reprint and did not imply the probability of such an occurrence.
